Seth MacFarlane‘s TED Has Been Renewed for Season 2 on Peacock

Peacock has officially ordered a second season for Seth MacFarlane‘s Ted, which is the prequel TV series to the film franchise.

The show ended up being a big hit on the streaming service, and it became Peacock’s most-watched original series to date and the No. 1 original streaming comedy in the U.S. for more than two consecutive months in the Nielsen rankings.

The series wasn’t initially supposed to get a second season, but after rating like that, Peacock obviously wanted to keep it going, regardless of how much it costs to make.

It’s pointed out in the report that the series is not cheap to make. With the comedy’s hybrid live-action/CGI nature, the budget is said to be pushing $10 million an episode, and it also takes a long time to make.

The series is set in 1993, and the bear’s moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts, with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Max Burkholder), along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan (Scott Grimes and Alanna Ubach) and cousin Blaire (Giorgia Whigham).

“Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.”

Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh are writers, executive producers and co-showrunners alongside MacFarlane.

I thought the first season of the series was a lot of fun! I’m sure fan will be happy that a second season will continue the story.
