Daredevil actor Charlie Cox has joined Zooey Deschanel (New Girl) in the upcoming romantic comedy Merv (working title) at Amazon MGM Studios. Jessica Swale is directing the film, and the script was written by Linsey Stewart and Dane Clark.
Others newly aboard the film include Chris Redd (SNL), Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond), David Hunt (Homeland), Ellyn Jameson (Barry), Wynn Everett (Palmer), Jasmine Mathews (Big George Foreman), and Joey Slotnick (Drive-Away Dolls).
Merv follows an estranged couple who learns that the dog they share is suffering from depression following their break-up. Subsequently, they awkwardly reconcile to take their pup on a sunny vacation in Florida over the holidays, in hopes of lifting his spirits.
