Ready or Not 2 is currently in development with original directing team Radio Silence, and Samara Weaving is set to return and reprise her role.
I’ve been curious about this sequel and wondering what the story would entail after the bonkers and bloody events of the first film.
The filmmakers, Tyler Gillett, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, and their producer partner Chad Villella, have offered an update on the project, saying that the script is done, and it’s a “f –king banger.”
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gillet said: “It’s getting figured out. That’s what we’ll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute f –king banger of a sequel.”
The first film was a big hit and it set a pretty high bar. But, the creative team seems to feel that the script they have for the sequel is strong. It’ll be fun to see where they take the story next!
Weaving plays Grace Le Domas in the franchise, and in the first movie, the story centers on Grace, a young bride who marries into the wealthy but eccentric Le Domas family.
On her wedding night, she discovers that there’s a macabre tradition within the family: every new member must participate in a random game as an initiation ritual.
Unluckily for Grace, she draws “Hide and Seek,” which she soon learns is a deadly version where she must hide while the family hunts her with the intent to kill her before dawn as part of a mysterious pact they believe they must fulfill to maintain their wealth and status.
What follows is a night of intense survival, as Grace savagely fights back, uncovering the family’s dark secrets and transforming from a scared bride into a fierce survivor.
