I’ve got a couple of videos here for you to watch today for John Woo’s classic 1997 action thriller Face/Off. There is a video that takes you through the making of the film, and there’s another video that offers some really entertaining behind-the-scenes b-roll footage.
I remember watching this movie in the theaters when it first came out and it was one hell of a wild ride! Nicolas Cage and John Travolta both gave the most insane, enjoyable, and over-the-top performances!
In the film, Travolta stars as FBI Special Agent Sean Archer and Nicolas Cage as terrorist-for-hire Castor Troy. The story revolves around Archer’s desperate mission to stop Troy from detonating a biological weapon. To infiltrate Troy’s criminal syndicate, Archer undergoes a revolutionary face-swapping surgery, exchanging identities with his nemesis. The narrative takes a mind-bending turn as Archer, now in Troy’s face, must navigate the criminal underworld and gain the trust of Troy’s associates, while the real Troy, surgically altered to look like Archer, wakes up seeking revenge.
