Here’s a trailer for an intense-looking underwater survival thriller titled The Dive. Things go horribly wrong in the film when two sisters go on a diving excursion and one of them becomes trapped by a rock after an underwater landslide. Of course, it doesn’t help that she’s low on oxygen.
The synopsis reads: “A deep-sea diving trip at one of the world’s most remote spots becomes a fight for survival for sisters Drew (Sophie Lowe) and May (Louisa Krause) when a catastrophic landslide sends rocks tumbling into the sea. After being struck by the rockfall, May now lies 28 meters below the surface, trapped by debris and unable to move. With dangerously low levels of oxygen, it is up to Drew to fight for her sister’s life. She must put her own life in jeopardy and risk paying the ultimate sacrifice. But with no help in sight, time is quickly running out…”
This is one of those nightmarish situations that I never want to find myself in. I do a lot of exploring, and I do a lot of stupid stuff when doing it, so when I watch something like this I start to rethink my decisions because this would suck.
The thriller was directed by Maximilian Erlenwein and it stars Sophie Lowe as Drew and Louisa Krause as May. RLJE Films will release The Dive in select theaters and on VOD starting August 25th, 2023. So, take a deep breathe and watch the trailer.
