Marvel Comics ALIEN Series Introduces a Very Different Kind of Xenomorph Queen

If you’re a fan of the Alien franchise, an interesting reveal has just dropped in Marvel Comics’ Alien series. Get ready for a very different never-before-seen xenomorph Queen, spinning out of the first five issues of the series and the Prometheus lore.

The cover of Alien #6 features an H.R. Giger-inspired humanoid xenomorph woman, which seems to be the result of the merging of the DNA between humans and xenomorphs and as you might imagine, she is a potentially dangerous threat to humanity.

Screen Rant speculates that this is indeed a new Queen, but the comic book’s solicitation only mentions “a new kind of Xenomorph.” Regardless, the noticeable differences in appearance compared to the traditional Xenomorphs on the cover hint at the possibility.

As most of you already know, the concept of a Xenomorph Queen first appeared in James Cameron‘s Aliens in 1986. She’s easily distinguishable from the drones by her extra pair of arms and the large crest extending from her head, resembling a crown and the head of the human/Xenomorph hybrid on the cover.

Alien #6 will be the final issue of the current volume of Alien. I imagine that this newly-introduced xenomorph will play a bigger part in the next story that will be told.

Here’s the solicitation text for the issue:

DEATH IS INEVITABLE! Steel Team is in fragments. Scores of innocent humans are dead after surviving years on an irradiated rock. A new kind of Xenomorph is emerging…hunting…killing. It’s all built to this. Is this the end – or beginning – of a new horror?
