20th Century and New Regency Studios released the film Amsterdam this year, and it was one of my favorite movies of 2022. The film is set in the 1930s, and it follows three people, played by Christian Bale, John David Washington, and Margot Robbie, who meet and become best friends in World War I. The two men witness a murder back home in New York, and become suspects themselves as they try to figure out what really is going on. Bale and Washington play two soldiers who become a doctor and a lawyer, while Robbie plays a nurse/artist, and they find themselves at the center of one of the most shocking secret plots in American history.
The rest of the ensemble cast includes Chris Rock, Robert DeNiro, Anya Taylor Joy, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Mike Myers, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Shannon, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, Alessandro Nivola, and Taylor Swift.
The studios who made the movie partnered with the designer Moda Operandi to release some beautiful jewelry and clothing including a Jungmaven- Limited edition, Artist hand-stamped T-Shirt in organic hemp-cotton, which was sent to me by the studio, as well as an Amsterdam Eye-in-the-Box with Burt Berendsen’s (Christian Bale) eye. I also got an Amsterdam Blu-Ray, which I was excited to watch as soon as I received it.
