Apple TV+ has released a first look teaser for a new series titled Shrinking, which comes from Bill Lawrence, the creator of Scrubs and Ted Lasso. The series has a great cast that is led by Harrison Ford and Jason Segel.
The show follows “a grieving therapist (played by Segel) who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives … including his own.”
Ford plays Dr. Phil Rhodes, “a down-to earth, sharp as a tack ‘blue collar shrink,’ blunt but with an ever present twinkle. Phil is a pioneer in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy who has built a successful practice over the years that he shares with his two young proteges, Jimmy and Gaby. Fiercely independent, Phil has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, which forces him out of his comfort zone.”
The series also stars Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Michael Urie, Luke Tennie, and Lukita Maxwell. It’s written and executive produced by Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso), Brian Gallivan, and Segel. Apple will release Shrinking streaming on Apple TV+ starting January 27th, 2023.
