Amazon Studios has released a trailer and new preview clip for its upcoming horror comedy My Best Friend’s Exorcism. The film comes from director Damon Thomas (Killing Eve, Penny Dreadful) and it stars Elsie Fisher (Eighth Grade), Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes), Christopher Lowell (How I Met Your Father), Cathy Ang, Rachel Ogechi, and Cynthia Evans.
The film is set in the year 1988. “High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act…different. She’s moody. She’s irritable. And bizarre incidents keep happening whenever she’s nearby. Abby’s investigation leads her to some startling discoveries—and by the time their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, the fate of Abby and Gretchen will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship powerful enough to beat the devil?”
The clip focuses on Abby as she turns to Lowell’s character, a self-called “demon expert,” for his opinion about whether her best friend is possessed or not.
The movie looks like a lot of fun I’ll definitely be checking it out! It looks like a good film that will help ring in that Halloween horror cheer.
The film will be available for streaming this Friday, September 30th, exclusively on Prime Video.
