Finn Jones might be one of the most uninteresting, uninspired casting choices for Marvel. He played Danny Rand, a.k.a. Iron Fist, in the Marvel Netflix shows, and a lot of fans did not like him in the role. I mean, the best part of the Iron Fist shows was Jessica Henwick in the role of Colleen Wing! I would love to see her return to the MCU!
As for Jones, he’s still holding out for hope that he will be able to reprise his role as Iron Fist again. He specifically would like to return in a Heroes For Hire series. During a recent interview with Comicbook the actor said:
“I would love to continue playing that character. I think there’s a lot of room for growth. Personally, where I would like to see the reintroduction of the character would be something like a Heroes for Hire TV series. I think that would be the most dynamic and fun way to reintroduce those characters.”
Heroes for Hire certainly would be fun! However, I’m pretty sure that if Marvel Studios does bring Iron Fist back, they will recast the character. I could be wrong! But, it seems like so many fans disliked Jones as Iron Fist. It would be great to see Mike Colter back as Luke Cage, though! When talking about working with Colter, Jone said:
“I loved working with Mike and I loved the on-screen chemistry between Danny and Luke. I think it’s a really interesting creative place that show can be taken in. I’d love to pick up that mantle again and keep moving this character forward and make the best possible Iron Fist there could be.”
There are no details on what Marvel is thinking in regards to these characters, but if they did decide to make a Heroes for Hire series one day, what do you think about Jones playing Iron Fist again? Do you think Marvel will even play with these characters again?
