Six seasons and a movie! It’s actually happening! NBCUniversal’s Peacock has officially ordered a Community feature film that will bring a definitive end to the franchise.
This is awesome! Over the years the cast of the series and the fans believed that this movie would eventually happen, and after all these years, after more than 100 Cominity episodes, it’s finally going to get made!
Creator Dan Harmon will be developing Community: The Movie and it will feature original series stars Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong.
Donald Glover, Yvette Nicole Brown and Chevy Chase are not returning, which is a shame. It would have been fun to see those characters return for the film. But hey, the fans will take what they can get, and I’m sure that Harmon will deliver a story that we’ll all enjoy.
Harmon and Andrew Guest will write and executibe produce while McHale, Russ Krasnoff and Gary Foster will executive produce the movie, which comes from Sony Pictures Television and Universal Television.
