Marvel’s ARMOR WARS Series is Now Being Developed as a Movie

Marvel Studios is making a big change to Don Cheadle’s Armor Wars project. The movie was originally being developed as a TV series for Disney+, but it’s now being redeveloped as a feature film.

According to the report, the studio was committed to “getting the story told the right way and in that process realized that a feature was better suited for the project.” As you might expect, because of this new direction, the project will be pushed further down the development slate.

Cheadle will be back in the role of Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes, AKA War Machine, and he is set to make his next big MCU appearance in Secret Wars. Whatever happens with him in that will set up what is going to happen in the Armor Wars movie.

Yassir Lester, who was working as the head writer on the series, will remain as the writer of the film. As of right now, no director is attached and we don’t know what phase of the MCU timeline the movie will pop up in.

This is exciting news! I’m glad the Armor Wars will be a movie instead of a series. I think a few of these Marvel shows would have benefitted from being a film instead of a series. What do you all think?
