It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of those shows that never fails at making me bust up in laughter. That show is so damn funny! Well, the cast and crew of the series played a hilarious prank on Danny DeVito for April Fool’s Day, and the prank is just as amazing as the comedy in the series.
That prank included a fake script that was written and while reading it, DeVoto was so alarmed by the subject matter that he contemplated calling up his lawyer. The author shared the details of that fake script In a recent interview with Uproxx:
“Then they throw me in the lockup, the big lockup. I get raped by everybody and the cops. And they kept going back to the bar and then Frank would get raped. And I go back to the bar, Frank would get raped. And I said, ‘What the f***, man? Call my lawyer.’ Right?”
DeVito ended up reading through the script and when he got to the end there was a surprise waiting for him. He said:
“I got to the end of the script. And the last guy that nailed me leans in. Well, Frank is now laying on the ground, [his] face is on the ground. He’s been f***** by every … And the guy leans down and he says, ‘April fools, b****.’ And I realized it was April 1st. They wrote this script in order to break my balls.”
DeVito ended up calling up his co-stars, and they all busted up laughing. I just love that they took the time to actually write a full script as a joke for DeVito!
