Atari has revealed the start of a new set of collectible cartridges for the Atari 2600. There will be a series of ten cartridges total coming out over the course of the next six months. To kick off the collection are two iconic games, Adventure and Missile Command which are available for pre-order now for $99.99 each on the Atari XP official site and on Limited Run Games.
Each cartridge will have reimagined artwork on the front label and will come in packaging inspired by the original packaging for the Atari 2600 games. Each cartridge will also feature an acrylic logo on the top that will be unique to each game and will light up when being played. They will also come with a color printed instruction manual, hard enamel collectible pin, and a twill-woven collectible patch.
If you are nostalgic for the days of cartridges, these collectibles are for you. Adventure and Missile Command pre-orders are open until July 31 with cartridges shipping 30 days after the preorder window closes.
