Daniel Brühl and Macaulay Culkin Set To Star in the Thriller RICH FLU Where a Deadly Disease Kills Rich People

Daniel Brühl and Macaulay Culkin have joined the cast of a new pandemic thriller film titled Rich Flu, which comes from Spanish director Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia. They will join the previously cast Rosamund Pike in the movie, which sounds like it’s going to tell an interesting story.

The movie is described as a “high-concept social thriller in which a deadly disease starts killing off the richest people on the planet. At first it strikes the billionaires, then the multi-millionaires, and so on. With the whole world panicking and headed for collapse, people are trying to flood the market with assets they no longer want, in hopes of saving their skin.”

I’m not sure how a disease can tell who is super rich and who’s not, but maybe that will all be explained in the movie. Regardless, the film has a great cast and I’m interested in seeing how this story ends up playing out.

The film is currently in production and Gaztelu-Urrutia co-wrote the script with The Platform co-writer Pedro Rivero. The film is being produced by Spencer and Jackie director Pablo Larraín alongside Juan de Dios Larraín.
