Lea Seydoux and George MacKay To Star in The Dystopian Romance Thriller THE BEAST

Lea Seydoux (No Time To Die) is set to star alongside George MacKay (1917) in an upcoming film project titled The Beast, which is described as a decade-spanning dystopian romance thriller.

The story takes place between Paris and California, and is set in the near future “where emotions have become a threat. Seydoux stars as Gabrielle, a woman who has finally decided to purify her DNA in a machine that will immerse her in her past lives and rid her of any strong feelings. But when she meets Louis (Mackay) and although he seems dangerous she feels a powerful connection to him as if she’d known him forever.”

The movie is being directed by Bertrand Bonello (Saint Laurent, House of Tolerance, Tiresa) and it is said to be his most ambitious project to date. He most recently directed a sci-fi film titled Coma, which deals with reincarnation and online behavior.

The Beast sounds like it will tell a fascinating story and there’s no doubt that MacKay and Seydoux are going to deliver great performances. The movie will shoot in French and English and will start filming in August.
