Marvel’s stop-motion animation series M.O.D.O.K. has officially been canceled after one season at Hulu, which is a surprise to no one. It’s not that the show was bad because it was actually pretty funny. But, with everything else that Marvel Studios is doing right now, keeping this show around and producing more episodes just doesn’t make sense as it doesn’t fit in with anything else that Marvel is doing.
Patton Oswalt starred in the series that he also helped develop, and he voiced the megalomaniacal supervillain M.O.D.O.K., who “has long pursued his dream of one day conquering the world. But after years of setbacks and failures fighting the Earth’s mightiest heroes, M.O.D.O.K. has run his evil organization A.I.M. into the ground. Ousted as A.I.M.’s leader, while also dealing with his crumbling marriage and family life, the Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing is set to confront his greatest challenge yet: a midlife crisis!”
The cast also includes Aimee Garcia (Lucifer), Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog), Wendi McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids), Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Beck Bennet (Saturday Night Live, Bill & Ted Face The Music), Sam Richardson (Werewolves Within), and Jon Daly (The Kroll Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm).
The series debuted back in May 2021 with 10 episodes.
