CRITICAL ROLE Announces New EXANDRIA UNLIMITED CALAMITY Mini Series Announced With Brennan Lee Mulligan As Game Master

If you have watched the hit Dungeons & Dragons live stream Critical Role, you know at least a little bit about its setting of Exandria. All the various campaigns and mini campaigns have occurred in this vast world and many reference an apocalyptic event called the Calamity.

Now we get to follow 6 adventurers in a 4 part series about the events that lead up to that terrible tragedy. Brennan Lee Mulligan will serve as game master for Sam Riegel, Travis Willingham, Marisha Ray, Aabria Iyengar, Lou Wilson, and Luis Carazo as their characters work to uncover corruption beneath the city they have sworn to protect.

It will be a bittersweet story as we already know that our heroes will fail in preventing mass death, but perhaps we will discover some secrets about the end of the Age of Arcanum that have been previously unknown. The series will air at 7 PST Thursdays on Critical Role’s Twitch and YouTube channels beginning on May 26. As always VOD is available for Twitch subscribers and will be on YouTube at noon Pacific the following Monday with podcasts releasing one week after the initial airing.

This should prove to be an incredible mini series. Mulligan is definitely one of the greats when it comes to running a game and the cast of players are incredible. As someone who has only listened to campaign 2 in its entirety and only parts of the other campaigns, I’m very excited to learn more about the events that led to the Calamity.

I’m a little surprised that Matthew Mercer isn’t running the game since it is such a huge part of the lore for his world, but I have no doubt that it is in very good hands with Mulligan. What do you guys think, are you excited to see this? Would you rather learn about these events in the main campaigns? Check out the trailer below.
