Oscar Isaac Says There Are No Plans To Continue MOON KNIGHT

There’s been a lot of speculation going on regarding Moon Knight continuing with a Season 2 recently. For those of you hoping to see the series continue, Oscar Isaac has some bad news for you. Doing a recent interview with Radio Times, the actor said that there are no official plans to continue the series:

“You know, I think we approached it as ‘this is the story, and let’s just put everything out on the table on this story. There’s definitely no official plans to continue it. I think it would depend on what the story is.”

That’s kind of a shame to hear because there’s so much more story to tell with this character! Director Mohamed Diab would even love to tell more stories with the character, as he said: “I dream and wish for a film. But with Marvel, the way they play it, it’s not like you graduate into a film. You can go into a film and come to a TV show and go back.” He went on to say that he could see the character being played with in the MCU over the next 10 years:

“But I can tell you for a fact, I can see him in the next 10 years, not just the next film. He’s a very interesting character. He’s probably the most interesting character for any actor to play. Oscar is doing a great job. People already like him even from the trailer. I think the show’s going to resonate with people, so I see him staying for a long time.”

Maybe Isaac is just managing expectations in his comments, but I would really love to see him back in action as Moon Knight. He’s just such a fun and likable character and Isaac says he had fun playing him! If the right story presents itself, he does say he’d be happy to come back:

“That being said, I love being Steven. I just love it. It’s just like, physically, it’s so much fun to be him. So, you know, if there was a story that really made sense, I’d be happy to be part of it.”

When Ethan Hawke (Arthur Harrow) was asked about the future of the series, he said: “Do you want to play the same character for long periods of time? Most actors don’t. But if you’re making audiences happy, your opinion changes.”

May Calamawy (Layla El-Faouly) added: “I’ve not heard anything. So if there [are plans], I’m yet to hear. If there were, I would, yeah, I’d consider returning. Of course.”

I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see what Marvel and the creative team come up with when and if they are ready to move forward with the next chapter of the story.
