Warner Bros. has dropped a second full trailer for its highly anticipated film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. This is the third of five planned films in the Harry Potter spin-off series. This new trailer puts a focus on Mads Mikkelsen’s Gellert Grindelwald rising up and building an army to go to war against the muggles. Then there’s Jude Law’s Dumbledore, who has gathered together a small team to fight against Grindelwald and stop him. Apparently, Dumbledore holds the secrets that can save the world.
In the story, Dumbledore calls on Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and a team of brave individuals to prevent Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers and stop a looming wizarding world war. Their goal is to take down the most dangerous wizard in over a century as Grindelwald is pulling the world apart with hate.
This next film in the Fantastic Beasts franchise has an epic feel to it, and I’m excited about seeing how this story plays out and how it sets up the next film in the franchise. The synopsis for the movie reads:
Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?
The movie also stars Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Dan Fogler.
J.K. Rowling’s frequent collaborator and Harry Potter franchise writer Steve Kloves co-wrote the script, and Harry Potter veteran David Yates returned to helm the new movie.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be released in theaters on April 15th 2022.
