Mike Flanagan Has Started Production on THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER

Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass) has officially started production on his next limited series The Fall of the House of Usher. The project is set up at Netflix, and It’s going to be based on “multiple works by Edgar Allan Poe rather than just the titular short story.”

Flanagan is one hell of a great storyteller. I love the projects that he’s worked on, and I can’t wait to see how this next one turns out. The cast for his new series includes Frank Langella, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Zach Gilford, Katie Parker, Annabeth Gish, and more!

It’s said that the show is a “modern remix of some of the most iconic works of Edgar Allan Poe” and it will tell an epic tale of greed, horror, and tragedy.” On an episode of The Kingcast, Flanagan opened up about the series a bit and explained that if The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor were carefully constructed symphonies, The Fall of the House of Usher is hard rock. He also shared with Bloody-Disgusting:

“A lot of the stuff I do is a slow burn. The Fall of the House of Usher is a brush fire. It is an explosion. It is as aggressive and rock ‘n roll and over the top and just violent and insane and horrific as anything I have ever done… by a lot. We’re gonna pull all the all stars from the Intrepid group of actors and some great new faces and we’re just gonna fucking jam.”

Bring it on, Flanagan! Entertain me with your dark and insane stories!
