Filming has wrapped on the upcoming sequel Hocus Pocus 2, and the film’s executive producer, Adam Shankman, has taken to Instagram to confirm that the film is headed our way this Halloween! Nearly 30 years after the 1993 original film, stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are returning as the Sanderson sisters.
They are joined by Doug Jones, who is also returning to play zombie Billy Butcherson, as well as Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Lilia Buckingham (Crown Lake), Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories), Froy Guiterrez (Cruel Summer), Sam Richardson (The Afterparty), Hannah Wadingham (Ted Lasso), and Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Toy Story 4).
The sequel is directed by Anne Fletcher (27 Dresses, The Proposal), and it follows the familiar witches as they seek revenge in present-day Salem. The youth-hungry sisters are again scheming to suck the lives out of children before sunrise, and it’s up to teens Becca (Peak), Cassie (Buckingham), and Izzy (Escobedo) to stop the Sandersons.
