Before director James Wan dives back in to directing an Aquaman sequel, he has some mysterious horror project he is working on, and doing his best to keep under wraps. But we now have word in a report from Variety that Wan has hired his first cast member for the film. Annabelle Wallis, known for her roles in Annabelle, where she first worked with the director, The Mummy, and most recently, the Showtime mini-series, The Loudest Voice.
Details are still being kept hush hush, and they are still settling on a writer for the script, but I’m sure we will hear more soon, as Wan is looking to pump this out before getting into the nitty gritty of Aquaman early in 2020. When previously talking about the series, Wan said:
“There’s been a bit of speculation as to what my next project is… all I’ll say is, I’m super excited to go back to my indie roots with this hard-R thriller. An original horror idea (not a reboot/remake or anything based on existing IP) with old school, practical effects and no giant, blue screen sets.”
