Netflix has released a new trailer for a new limited series titled Brand New Cherry Flavor. The show is a dark revenge thriller set in 1990s Hollywood and the story centers on a young filmmaker who is looking to make a movie but in the process, she “tumbles down a hallucinatory rabbit hole of sex, magic, revenge – and kittens.”
The movie stars Catherine Keener as some kind of witch and Rosa Salazar (Alita: Battle Angle) as Lisa N. Nova, who “comes to LA dead set on directing her first movie. But when she trusts the wrong person and gets stabbed in the back, everything goes sideways and a dream project turns into a nightmare. This particular nightmare has zombies, hit men, supernatural kittens, and a mysterious tattoo artist who likes to put curses on people. And Lisa’s going to have to figure out some secrets from her own past in order to get out alive.”
As you’ll see, this movie looks absolutely insane and I love what I’m seeing. This series looks like it’s going to take us on a messed up and demented journey. The series also has a very stylish hallucinatory visual style that I dig.
The series comes from Channel Zero creator Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion and it also stars Eric Lange, Jeff Ward, Manny Jacinto. It will be released on Netflix on August 13th.
