Disney’s Upcoming Streaming Service is Hoping to Eliminate Password Sharing For Obvious Reasons

How many streaming services do you use? I use four. How many are you enrolled for? I’m signed up for three. I think that’s fairly typical, but I know people who don’t pay for any of the streamers they piggy back on! But the upcoming streaming service, Disney+ is looking to put an end to that, at least as much as they can. Disney and Charter Communications has released a joint statement for its subscribers on the Spectrum Cable plan. Here’s what was said in the fine print:

“Additionally, Disney and Charter have also agreed to work together on piracy mitigation. The two companies will work together to implement business rules and techniques to address such issues as unauthorized access and password sharing.”

The companies haven’t unveiled what their plan is to combat this issue, but I guess we will find out. It seems like any way they’d go about blocking users from sharing their password would just make the service less user-friendly, so we will have to wait and see.
