Well, Deadpool has officially joined the MCU in the most unexpected way. Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool teamed up with Taika Waititi’s Korg for a reaction video in which they watch and joke around about the upcoming Fox Studios movie Free Guy, which as you know stars Ryan Reynolds and Taika Waititi.
As you might expect, this is actually hilarious! Watching these two characters do a silly YouTube “reaction video” is great. Deadpool brings his quick wit and sarcastic humor, and then there’s Korg, well… being Korg! Damn, I can’t wait to see Deadpool in a Marvel movie!
This is a lot of fun and the best possible viral marketing for this movie. Marvel fans and Ryan Reynolds fans are going to get a kick out of this!
The story follows a bank teller named Guy who “discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game and…decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.”
The movie was directed by Shawn Levy (Stranger Things), and it also stars Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, and Utkarsh Ambudkar.
The movie is set to be released on August 13th, 2021.
