When J.J. Abrams rebooted the Star Trek franchise, he brought Leonard Nimoy back to play Spock, and he appeared in both Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness as “Spock Prime.” Fans have mixed feelings about these films, but it was cool to see Nimoy back in the role of Spock. However, Nimoy’s long-time co-star William Shatner didn’t care for how Spock was used and criticized it in an interview with Daily Express, saying:

“Leonard Nimoy was in some of those films, but it was totally gratuitous. They just wanted to put Spock in there and I didn’t admire that.”

But, you know what he would admire? If they could come up with a way to bring him back to the franchise. He went on to say:

“If they could come up with a way of putting a character I played in a movie where it functioned as a point in the movie [and] made the movie move along, I’d be delighted.”

You know, kind of like the same way that Leonard Nimoy was used in Abrams’ Star Trek movies. Ya gotta love Shatner.
