Donnie Yen (Ip Man, Rogue One) has joined the cast of John Wick: Chapter 4. He will star alongside Keanu Reeves in the film and will play an old friend of John Wick, “who shares his same history and many of the same enemies.”
I’m a big fan of Yen and it’s awesome to see that he’s joining the John Wick franchise. It’s about time! There’s no doubt that he’s going to bring his badass martial arts skills to the franchise. Donnie Yen will destroy everyone who comes near him!
Director Chad Stahelski said in a statement, “We are very lucky to have Donnie Yen join the franchise. I am looking forward to working with him in this exciting new role.”
Producer Basil Iwany added, “Donnie Yen will bring a vibrant and powerful energy to the franchise. We were determined to bring him on board to John Wick 4 and are thrilled for the opportunity to have such a major talent to collaborate with Keanu.”
John Wick: Chapter 4 will begin production this summer shooting on location in France, Germany, and Japan. The film is set to be released on May 27, 2022.
