Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER is the next title coming to MidBoss’ 2064: Read Only Memories series. The point-and-click adventure game is set in a cyberpunk world called Neo-San Francisco and has a retro aesthetic to enjoy. In the game, you play a gifted esper known as ES88 and have to go into the memories of other characters to bring down a powerful psychic known as the Golden Butterfly. Midboss recently announced that the new game would be getting launched on the Xbox Series X|S in addition to the previously announced Nintendo Switch, PC (Epic|Steam), PS4, PS5, and Xbox One.
Return to Neo-San Francisco a few years after the events of 2064: Read Only Memories to hunt down a rogue psychic by diving into the corrupted memories of their victims. Use a bioengineered creature called the Neurodiver to amplify your mind-reading capabilities and repair the damage while looking for clues. Take care, though, for one wrong move can distort victims’ memories forever.

Neo-San Francisco, with its cyberpunk mix of corporate interests, technological and biological advancement, and diverse cast with a lot of queer characters, has plenty of room for stories exploring the intersection of human nature with society and technology. NEURODIVER asks what makes us who we are while furthering the stories of characters like Lexi Rivers from 2064 and the comics taking place between the two games.
NEURODIVER does not have a formal release date yet, but fans can expect it in the first quarter of 2022. In addition, you can download a free demo on Steam and Epic Games Store now to give it a test run before launch. There’s also a trade paperback version of the Read Only Memories comic from IDW that will launch in August. The comics are written by Sina Grace.
