The video game industry is still a new industry that people are trying to work the bugs out of. Some developers are known for being great places to work while others are notorious for crunch and burn out. Tripwire Interactive, the developer studio of Maneater and Killing Floor, have recently announced their new approach to how employees can work. Calling it the Next Gen Work Model, employees will be given a lot of flexibility over where they work. Employees are now allowed to work 100% in-office, 100% at-home, or do a hybrid option to meet their needs as people and professionals. I think this is a great model that has a lot of potential as employees from outside of the Roswell, Georgia area can potentially work for the company. I think this is a great move by Tripwire. Talking about the decision, CEO John Gibson said:

By allowing flexible hybrid on-site/remote work plans we’re providing the best of both worlds with the collaborative and relational benefits of in-office work and the quality-of-life benefits of remote work. With offering these flexible hybrid, full time remote, and full time on-site work options we’re serving the desires and needs of next generation teams.

The Next Gen Work Model is now in effect for existing employees and any new employees. I think that this is a great move and after the last year, I’m wouldn’t be surprised if more companies followed suit.
