Uli Latukefu, who plays the younger college football era Dwayne Johnson on the NBC series Young Rock, is set to reunite with Johnson in DC’s upcoming Black Adam movie.

There’s no information on who Latukefu will be playing in the film, but since he plays a younger version of Johnson in Young Rock, I can’t help but think that maybe he’ll play a younger version of Black Adam in the film. But who knows, maybe he’ll be playing a completely different character.

Latukefu also joins Aldis Hodge (Underground, The Invisible Man) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I Love Before, Charlie’s Angels) as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets, Euphoria) as Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye, Mamma Mia!) as Doctor Fate, and Sarah Shahi (Person of Interest, The L Word) and Marwan Kenzari (The Old Guard, Aladdin).

Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise) is directing Black Adam, the most recent script of which was written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. Adam Sztykiel wrote the previous draft.

Latukefu recently wrapped Black Site opposite Michelle Monaghan, Jason Clarke and Jai Courtney. He will next appear in Searchlight’s Next Goal Wins for Taika Waititi opposite Michael Fassbender and Elisabeth Moss which tells the true story of the perennially losing American Samoa soccer team as they try to turn their luck around under the guidance of their new Dutch coach Thomas Rongen and qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

Black Adam happens in theaters on July 29, 2022.
