Constance Wu Joins Chris Pratt’s Action Thriller THE TERMINAL LIST

Crazy Rich Asians star Constance Wu is set to take on the lead female role in Chris Pratt’s upcoming conspiracy-thriller series The Terminal List. She also joins the recently cast Taylor Kitsch in the project.

Pratt takes on the role of former Navy SEAL James Reece and Kitsch will play Ben Edwards, another former SEAL and the best friend of Reece.

The series is based on Jack Carr’s bestselling novel. The story follows Reece “after his entire platoon of SEALS is ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission. When Reece returns home to his family, he questions his own culpability with muddled memories of the event. However, as new evidence comes to light, Reece discovers dark forces working against him. Edwards uses his CIA Ground Branch access and operator skillset to help Reece seek his vengeance.”

Wu will be playing a character named Katie Buranek, “a risk-seeking war correspondent who uses her byline to speak truth to power. Katie left her desk at a prestigious news outlet to pursue high-impact stories on her own terms. Now at a crossroads in her career, Katie finds an unlikely ally in rogue Navy SEAL James Reece. She seeks to re-enter the mainstream by bringing the truth about Reece and the conspiracy he’s fighting against to light.”

The series is being written by David DiGilio, who also serves as showrunner. This has been a passion project for Pratt, who is the one that initially acquired the rights to the novel and brought in Antoine Fuqua to direct. The author of the book is a former Navy SEAL and Special Ops team leader, and he is also attached to executive produce.

To help with authenticity, the show will bring in veterans and their families “as part of multiple aspects of the series production, starting with writing. Half the show’s writing staffers are either veterans themselves or have veterans in their families.”

This project has a great list of talented people involved with it, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
