HUMANKIND Shows Off Avatar and AI Customization Features

Humankind is an upcoming 4X game from Amplitude Studios and Sega and they recently shared some more information about the avatars that players will be able to enjoy. In Humankind, you’ll be able to customize an avatar to rule your civilization physically, but also you can customize the AI for your avatar which you can save and then send over to your friends so they can play against you while you’re busy doing other things. The AI aspects include Archetypes, Biases, and Strengths.

Archetypes are the general behavior and tendencies of your avatar. Is your avatar one that will betray its allies, or will they be loyal? Will they be thinking 10 turns ahead, or play things much looser? Meanwhile, Biases are quirks that your avatar may have like being super stubborn and never surrendering. Strengths are passive bonuses that your avatar has to help with their play style.

Customization options will be unlocked as you play Humankind, so you can’t create the ultimate avatar from the get go. Humankind will launch on April 22 on PC and Stadia.
