Stephanie Meyer Has Two More Stories Within the TWILIGHT Universe Coming After MIDNIGHT SUN

Stephanie Meyer is the author of the incredibly popular Twilight book series that was released in four back-to-back novels between 2005 and 2008, giving way to the films that continued to increase the rabid fandom that was referred to as the “Twihards.” The book saga sold more than 160 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 49 languages, with the most recent book, Midnight Sun, being released this year, over a decade later, and having sold more than one million copies in just three months.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Meyer said this story, which is a retelling of the first book from Edward Cullen’s perspective, was difficult to tell, because she had to stay within the perimeters of her previous work. She said of the story, “By far the most exciting part of writing this, hands down, is the fourth act where Edward and Bella are separated, so then I’m free to do whatever I want.”

At the Books-A-Million virtual live event with the author on Monday, Meyer commented on the future of the series, saying:

“There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write. I have got them outlined and a chapter written I think of the first one, so I know it’s there. I am not ready to do that right now, I want to do something brand new. For me, a lot of the joy of writing comes from creating and I really want to do a new world and new rules and new mythology. Mythology is kind of my thing.”

So after a break and a whole new world of stories from the author, we will get two new books within the series! I know the Twilight books and movies have received their fair share of crap from haters, but I loved the stories they told, and I am excited for more. I also think that any books that spark people’s love of reading are good and important. So I will be looking forward to the two books that Meyer has in store.

Have you read Midnight Sun yet? Are you looking forward to two more Twilight stories?
