If you enjoy watching blacksmiths at work and don’t already watch That Works on YouTube, you’re missing out. In a recent episode, Ilya Alekseyev used traditional Japanese forge methods to create Tanjiro’s katana from the popular anime Demon Slayer.

This build took the team approximately 6 months to build and this video is unique in the fact that we get to see how every part of the blade is made. This video is such a treat to watch and it’s fascinating to hear Alekseyev talk about how Japanese art and bladesmithing connects to other forms of art and anime.
