Michael Bay in Talks to Direct Bank Robbery Thriller AMBULANCE

Michael Bay is in talks to direct a bank robbery thriller titled Ambulance, which is a remake of a 2005 Danish film from director Laurits Munch-Petersen. The remake was originally supposed to be directed by Navot Papushado and Aharon Keshales, but they ended up dropping out. Now Bay is involved.

The story follows a returned veteran from Afghanistan “who is drawn by his brother into a bank robbery. When the robbery goes horribly wrong, the brothers take hostages and hijack an ambulance. As the situation escalates, old wounds reopen in the relationship between the brothers as they fight to survive what seems like an impossible situation. The original film is mainly set in one location in real time with minimal characters.”

The script for the film comes from Chris Fedak, who had been attached since the beginning. Fedak has worked on TV projects such as ChuckLegends of Tomorrow, and Prodigal Son.

If Bay does end up jumping on board the project, he will start production on late-January in Los Angeles. His next movie was originally set to be Black Five, which is an original action movie idea that he came up with and it’s also reportedly set to be adapted into a video game.
