Tom Sturridge to Lead The Sandman, Liam Hemsworth Up for The Corinthian

It seems that Netflix has allegedly found someone who will portray Dream in the upcoming The Sandman series. According to a recent report by Collider, it will be Tom Sturridge playing the titular Endless, also known as Dream, Morpheus, Kai’ckul, and Oneiros. Netflix has yet to confirm the news or the rest of the cast.

Sturridge is best known for his role as Lord Byron in 2017’s Mary Shelley and as Carlo Marx in 2012’s On the Road. He recently starred in the Starz series Sweetbitter. His credits also include Dan Gilroy’s Velvet Buzzsaw and Terrence Malick’s Song to Song.

Meanwhile, /Film brings word that Liam Hemsworth and Dacre Montgomery are the current top choices to play The Corinthian, a major villain of The Sandman.

Dream made his debut in 1989 as the main protagonist of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman comic book series. In the comics, he is the ruler of the world of dreams. Before too long, a group of black magic occultists captures him and locks him for 72 years. Eventually, he manages to escape and tries to regain control of the dream world.

Recently, Gaiman took to Twitter to reveal that that production on the long-awaited series will soon commence. The author also recently revealed that there would be some divergences from the comic as the story will be set in the present. Netflix has yet to announce an official release date for the series.
