Jeff Goldblum Talks About The First Scene He Shot in JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION with Sam Neill and Laura Dern

During a recent interview with Insider, the lovable actor Jeff Goldblum opened up a little bit about Jurassic Park: Dominion and shooting his first scene in the film with Sam Neill and Larua Dern. He offers a great little tease without revealing anything:

“The first thing that we shot … it was a scene with me and Laura Dern and Sam Neil and we were — I can’t tell you much — but we were all day in a very tight, enclosed space.

“You’ll see — it’s a mystery you’ll solve when you see [the movie.] The three of us were in a tiny little space and we were being menaced by — I can’t even tell you — a surprising faction of prehistoric creatures that you’ve never seen before.”

I can’t wait to see what this faction of prehistoric creatures will be that we’ve never seen before. Goldblum also went on to say that there is a lot of “animatronic things going on, so there is going to be less CGI I think, and lots of things that we can act with and see with our own eyes.”

Less CGI is always better. I love it when the creators of films put more effort into bringing their stories to life with the use of practical effects over CGI. The actor went on to discuss working with these practical effects, saying:

“We saw some amazing things. We were acting in a life and death situation. We think it might be the last moments of our lives and we’re all bonding with each other in an emotional and somewhat hilarious way.”

Sounds like a great and fun little scene! I pretty excited for this upcoming Jurassic World movie, mostly because Goldblum, Neill, and Dern are reprising their roles. The fact that they play a major role in the story is the main selling point for me.

Jurassic World: Dominion is being directed by Colin Trevorrow and will also star Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda.

We still don’t have any story details to share. But, we do know that this next chapter in the story will feature a world in which dinosaurs have escaped captivity and are living free in the world and it will explore how humanity is dealing with it.

Jurassic World: Dominion opens June 11, 2021.
