We just reported the surfaced rumors about Hayden Christensen joining the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series that’s headed to Disney+. What we are hearing is that the actor will reprise his role of Anakin Skywalker in more than just a cameo, but a regular part in the story.
Now we are receiving word from reliable source and insider Daniel Richtman (via fullcirclecinema) that we will be seeing Darth Vader in the series as well. Now we don’t know if Christensen will be the one to portray Vader, or if he will be a major player in the series, but he is said to certainly be appearing. It is unknown if Vader will face off against Obi-Wan Kenobi, but that would be awesome!
Production on the series is set to begin early in 2021, with Ewan McGregor reprising his role of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Deborah Chow (Better Call Saul, American Gods, The Mandalorian) will direct the series as well as serve as showrunner, with Hossein Amini (Drive, McMafia) and Joby Harold (Awake, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) writing. Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and Jar-Jar Binks (Ahmed Best) are also set to appear on the series in some capacity.
