JUSTICE LEAGUE’s Ray Fisher Says Joss Whedon Was Gross, Abusive, and Unprofessional

The actor who played Cyborg in DC’s Justice League movie, Ray Fisher, recently renounced his support of director Joss Whedon.

Fisher shared the video from Comic-Con where he said, “Joss Whedon is a good guy and Zack picked a good person to clean up and finish up for him.” And that video came with the following statement:

“I’d like to take a moment to forcefully retract every bit of this statement.”

Fisher has now shared the reasoning behind his comment on Twitter saying that Whedon’s “on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.” He went on to say that he was “enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg.” Here’s the Tweet:

It definitely can’t be easy for an actor to come out and say something like this, because while he will be supported by some, others will come in to tear him down.

I have no idea what Whedon is like to work with because I’ve never worked with him. But, I’ve seen and read what other people have said about Whedon who have worked with him and most of the comments I’ve come across have been positive. Obviously, Fisher had a very different and negative experience with the filmmaker. I know Whedon went through some heavy drama with his ex-wife, but this is the first time I think I’ve seen someone say these things about Whedon as a filmmaker. It sucks that Fisher had to go through what he went through.

With Fisher coming out and opening the door to this conversation regarding Whedon’s bad behavior, I wonder if more actors and actresses will start to come out against him as well. I guess we’ll see how this plays out in the coming days.
