SUCCESSION Director Mark Mylod to Helm Producer Adam McKay’s Dark Comedy THE MENU

Searchlight Pictures and producer Adam McKay are moving forward with a new project that they’re developing titled The Menu. They have brought on director Mark Mylod to helm the dark comedy. He previously worked with McKay on the HBO series Succession.

The film is “a darkly comedic psychological thriller set in the world of eccentric culinary culture, centering on a young couple who visit an exclusive restaurant on a remote island where an acclaimed chef has prepared a lavish tasting menu.”

If this is a psychological thriller, I guess the question is… what in the hell is the acclaimed chef serving!? While we don’t really have many plot details, this sounds like it could make for a fun movie.

Alexander Payne was originally supposed to direct the film, and Emma Stone was going to star in that version of the movie. But scheduling conflicts led to them having to leave the project. Will Tracy and Seth Reiss wrote the script.
