30+ Anime Films Coming to VR Thanks to Funimation and Bigscreen

Funimation has teamed up with Bigscreen to launch over 30 anime films to the virtual reality theater platform. The films will be available starting on May 1 and feature special screenings every weekend starting with the hit Your Name. These weekend screenings will be broadcast live at the price of $3.99 and start at 6 PM Pacific. Here are all the planned weekend screenings:

  • May 1: Your Name

  • May 8: My Hero Academia: Two Heroes

  • May 15: Akira

  • May 21: The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

  • May 29: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

  • June 5: Sword of the Stranger

  • June 12: I Am A Hero

If you’re not interested in these options, don’t worry. Bigscreen will offer the following titles as VOD titles:

  • Your Name

  • Planetarian: Storyteller of the Stars

  • The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya Movie

  • The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
