STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT II Gets Final Free Content Update Today

Today, Star Wars; Battlefront II has launched its final regular content update. After a very rocky launch, Battlefront II has provided fans with a fun and enjoyable experience and 25 free content updates that brought new levels, characters, and more to the game. Well, the new Battle on Scarif update that went live today will be the last of these updates. In a blog post about the update, creative director Dennis Brännvall said:

Looking beyond April, we’re transitioning to a phase where the servers, in-game challenges, recurring events such as Double XP and more, and game support will carry this broad and rich Star Wars gaming experience into the future. This means that we’re moving away from delivering regular content updates. As the game lives on with the players and our community, we’re looking forward to hearing your stories for years to come.

So, what does this final content update bring fans? Well, the Age of Rebellion is being brought to the Supremecy and Instant Action modes allowing for battles to take place on Hoth, Tatooine, Yavin 4, Death Star II, and Scarif. It should be noted that these battles will be limited to the ground phase as the military imbalance between the Rebels and the Empire is so great and a couple of maps don’t really allow for capital ships. However, fans will be able to pilot starfighters in select locations.

In addition, players will be able to take the fight to Scarif and Crait in the Heroes and Villains game modes; play cooperative on the MC85 Star Cruiser, First Order Star Destroyer, and Scarif; and even play cooperativly offline with AI.

The final piece of the update includes new appearances. Three of these are based on The Rise of Skywalker, inlcuding “Rey wielding her yellow lightsaber, Kylo Ren wearing his reforged mask with the hood up, and Emperor Palpatine binding it all together with his latest, menacing set of robes.” If you like Rey’s hooded look, you’ll want to uncover the mystery on Takodana. Finally, if you want Darth Maul to have his mechanical legs, simply eliminate 5,000 enemies as the Zabrak Sith to unlock his Old Master appearance.
