Seth Rogen has been developing a new comedy at Sony Pictures titled An American Pickle. According to Deadline, that film project has jumped from Sony to HBO Max, which launches on May 27th. There’s no word on when the movie will be released, though.

The movie is an adaptation of the 2013 New Yorker series Sell Out by Simon Rich, who also wrote the script. The story follows “an immigrant worker at a pickle factory (played by Rogen) who is accidentally preserved for 100 years and wakes up in modern day Brooklyn. He learns his only surviving relative is his great-grandson (also portrayed by Rogen), a computer coder who he can’t connect with.”

This is certainly going to make for an interesting movie! The concept is absolutely ridiculous, so it’s the perfect kind of project for Rogen to be a part of! I’m sure it’ll make for a funny flick.
