I’m a big fan of Jeff Victor and I’ve been enjoying his “Pop Culture Evolutions” art series for years. These evolutions offer an illustrated timeline of famous pop and geek culture characters as they change through the years. I own several of Victor’s previously released art books and I’ve shared a lot of his art on the site over the years.
Well, he’s got a new Evolutions: The Art of Jeff Victor book coming out that’s up on Kickstarter. He’s already raised the money he was looking for to publish the book, but you can still pitch in and help if you want! Here’s a little statement he provided explaining his charming Evolutions art:
Hi, my name is Jeff Victor. I’m a freelance Los Angeles based illustrator who works as a character designer in animation and video games. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing timelines of famous pop culture characters in an art series called Pop Culture Evolutions. I’ve been doing them for 8 years, and while a lot of my early Evolutions were already printed in my previous art books, this is a collection of my Evolutions drawn over the last few years, never before seen in print. The book also features tons of brand new artwork, never before posted on social media.
So…What are “Pop Culture Evolutions?” Basically, they’re a series of illustrated infographics, featuring famous actors, musicians, superheroes, monsters, and other pop culture characters as they evolve through the years, drawn in a cute, caricature style.
