After Netflix saved Lucifer from its Fox cancelation, the original plan was to close the show out with Season 5, which consists of 16 episodes. Well, it looks like plans might have changed. The series could actually get a sixth season!

TV Line is reporting that Netflix and Warner Bros. Television are currently in talks and “both sides appear optimistic that a renewal deal will come to fruition.”

If this deal for Lucifer Season 6 actually closes, the plan is to produce 10 to 13 episodes. This will give the show more than enough time to properly close out the story of Lucifer Morningstar. Obviously, fans of the series will be ecstatic if the show officially gets picked up for one more season!

The series is loosely based on the Vertigo character, and it “tells the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar abandoned his throne. He then retired to Los Angeles, where he teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals.”

There’s still no release date for the fifth season of Lucifer, but it will hit Netflix sometime in 2020. Obviously, the show has been doing well on Netflix! Would you be excited if Lucifer got picked up for a sixth season?
