Marvel Studios is Reportedly Developing Two New TV Shows Including One For SECRET INVASION

A new rumor has surfaced regarding two unannounced series projects being developed for Disney+. The following intel comes from Bleeding Cool, who tends to have a solid track record for scoops like this, but since nothing has been officially announced, this is just a rumor.

They are saying that Marvel is developing two new shows. One is said to be a Secret Invasion show that is based on the comic book arc written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Leinil Francis Yu. The story reveals that several people in the Marvel Universe were actually Skrulls and have been planted as part of a planned invasion of Earth by a religious sect of Skrulls.

Seeds of this whole concept have been set up in the MCU with the film’s Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home, which showed Skrull characters Talos and his wife masquerading as Nick Fury and Maria Hill helping our Spider-Man. We also saw Nick Fury in space working with the Skrulls, which we believe is S.W.OR.D. This could fit in with the previous rumor about Hulking making his MCU debut in WandaVision.

The report points out that Marvel Comics is currently preparing “a major Skrull invasion storyline, Empyre, featuring an assault on Earth by a combined Skrull and Kree army let by Hulkling, and we have been told that the comic book from last year, Meet The Skrulls about an embedded family of Skrull operatives, will play a major role in the Empyre comics.”

As for the second series, we don’t have any details, but it has already been given the green light, and will reportedly revolve around an A-List character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We have no idea who that character could be.

I hope these rumors are true! It would be pretty cool to see the Secret Invasion storyline get adapted. I was expecting it to eventually happen on the big screen, but maybe the series will help set up for the story to continue on the big screen as the story escalates and builds into something epic.

What do you think about this latest Marvel series rumor?
