Beautiful Full Color Custom Miniatures are Coming with the Hero Forge 2.0 Kickstarter

If you want a custom miniature for your tabletop RPG, then there’s a good chance you’ve at least heard of Hero Forge. The service allows you to design a custom figure for your TTRPG needs and then either purchase the file to print it yourself or pay to have them print it out with a variety of materials available. It’s a pretty slick deal. Well, the team has now started work on Hero Forge 2.0 and would like your help funding it via their Kickstarter.

Hero Forge 2.0 offers a wide variety of new features. The biggest feature being advertised is the ability to paint figures in full color. This means you don’t have to paint a boring gray figure and then paint it yourself to bring it to life. This is incredible! However, that’s also just the tip of the iceberg.

Another new feature is a set of digital paint tools to help painters plan their paint jobs before actually doing them. This lets you experiment with different color schemes and theories without putting a bunch of paint on the mini and having to remove it all thereby wasting a ton of money.

Third, what if you play on a virtual tabletop? Well, Hero Forge 2.0 will have a token maker that you’ll be able to use for your virtual tabletop needs. I don’t have any in-person RPG groups, so this option is actually the most exciting one for me. No more generic tokens for everything. Now, I can have exciting tokens to perfectly match all my characters, NPCs, and even some enemies.

The final point I want to bring up is the new photo booth tools being created. This is advertised most towards people who don’t use minis of any kind, but even then it has its uses. You can use the photo booth tools to create a portrait of your character and save it to attach to your character sheet later.

There’s a lot more going on with the Hero Forge 2.0 Kickstarter, but I’ve covered some of the biggest points here. The campaign is ridiculously funded (over 3000%) and still has over 20 days to go. What feature are you most excited about?
