Blake Lively is on a dark journey of revenge in this new trailer for The Rhythm Section, and she is hunting down and killing everyone who was involved with the death of her family. This looks like a great and thrilling movie. I’m a fan of Lively, and it’s pretty great seeing her take on a hardcore role like this.
In the film, Lively plays a woman who has lost her family in a plane crash. After finding out that the crash was no accident, and that it was actually a bomb that blew it up, she will do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths. This seriously looks like it’s going to be a great movie.
The film was directed by Reed Morano, who made her career as a cinematographer before she made her way into directing. She has since previously helmed The Handmaids Tale, as well as the 2018 film I Think We’re Alone Now. Lively is joined in the cast by Jude Law (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Captain Marvel), Max Casella (Blue Jasmine, The Detour), and Sterling K. Brown (This is Us, Black Panther).
Here’s the synopsis:
Blake Lively (#BlakeLively) stars as Stephanie Patrick, an ordinary woman on a path of self-destruction after her family is tragically killed in a plane crash. When Stephanie discovers that the crash was not an accident, she enters a dark, complex world to seek revenge on those responsible and find her own redemption.
