We’ve got a surprisingly sweet and funny trailer for a film called Come As You Are, a road trip sex-centered comedy that is based on a true story that follows three young men with disabilities on a quest to visit a facility that caters to men who are differently-abled. The film stars Grant Rosenmeyer, Hayden Szeto, and Ravi Patel, with Gabourey Sidibe, Delaney Feener, Asta Philpot, Janeane Garofalo, and C.S. Lee.
Here’s the synopsis:
Three young men with disabilities (played by Grant Rosenmeyer, Hayden Szeto, and Ravi Patel) flee their overbearing parents on a road trip to a brothel in Montreal catering to people with special needs. Sam (Gabourey Sidibe), a traveling nurse, drives the three guys across the border as they go on this trip to lose their virginity and embrace their independence. A remake of the award winning, critically acclaimed 2011 Belgian film Hasta La Vista.
I was surprised at how great this movie looks. The description sounds like it will be raunchy and over the top, but it actually looks heartwarming and hilarious. Check out the trailer below, and see Come As You Are in theaters this Valentine’s Day.
